Énergie Hydraulique

ALSTOM POWER, the energy branch of the French group ALSTOM, a world leader in electricity production and rail transportation infrastructures, has selected the Coswin 7i solution developed by Siveco Group. They were attracted by the flexibility offered with the possibility to re-build and parameter the screens according to their needs.

The scope of the project covers the deployment of a maintenance management system for the electro-mechanical aspects of the Merowe dam on the river Nile in Egypt. ALSTOM will supply ten 125MW turbine generators, the command and control systems, the electrical engineering and the assembly and implementation of the project.

This project represents a major step in the development of Sudan. As well as generating electricity, the dam will create new farmland and provide protection from floods. It will also help with problems caused by sediment in the Aswan lake 350km further down the river.
