Coswin 7i in compliance with CNIL recommendations
The Coswin 7i application developed by Siveco has been submitted to the National Computer Liberty Commission (CNIL) for recommendations regarding conformity with regulations.
Siveco, although not responsible for the use that can be made of the data contained in Coswin, has nevertheless called upon « guidance » from the CNIL to guarantee the respect of people’s rights and liberty where private information will be registered. This is in accordance with the law of 6th January 1978 related to information technology. |

| Coswin offers users the means to satisfy the obligations fixed by CNIL (files security, confidentiality, personal information etc.). The only contentious point rested on three fields of the employee module: social security number, identity card number, passport number. The CNIL recalled that the wording of the field was not the problem but the value given in the field could be of concern and has recommended that the software vendor should explicitly inform customers with regard to the use of these fields.
Siveco has made the choice to go beyond these recommendations by modifying the wording and the name of the fields – explicitly – in the database. Since version 7i.5.0 these fields have been renamed and removed from the standard Employee module interface. However, the customer remains responsible for the data held in the application and should ask for approval from the CNIL for this part.
